Wholesale Market
The wholesale marketwas built after the earthquake in only one year from 1964 to 1965. It islocated onthe Al MouquaouamaAvenue. It has a dome form and it was thought by two architects and a consulting engineer: Pierre Coldefy, Claude Verdugo and Stephane Duchateau.The design of the dome is known under the name of SDC system: Two half-shells of cast steel, with welded tubular steel frames.
The dome was damaged by a fire a few years ago but was renovated recently. However, the wholesale market was relocated near Agadir, in the city ofInezgane, a huge commercial hub in southern Morocco.
